Participation in GDC(Game Developers Conference) 2017
2017 遊戲開發者大會(GDC)活動參訪 ![]() GDC(Game Developers Conference) is the world's largest professional game industry event where game developers gather to exchange ideas. Since 2011, the ARF has been sending representatives to the annual GDC, and they have been sharing their feedback and exchanging related information with independent game developers in Taiwan. GDC 2017 was held in San Francisco from February 27 to March 3. The event included experience sharing, technical tutorials, and discussions of topics on business management and trend analysis. It also featured exhibitions covering many themes. ![]() This year, our member Lin Jung-Sheng spoke on the topic "Localization Shenanigans in the Chinese Speaking World" at the GDC, explaining to an overseas audience the issues that often occur when foreign games are localized into Chinese, and the cultural differences between various Chinese-speaking regions. After the GDC, the ARF also sponsored the Taiwan chapter of the International Game Developers Association in its joint effort with the Institute for Information Industry to hold a sharing event on April 8, 2017, to share experience of GDC 2017 and core contents of specific sessions, giving developers in Taiwan greater access to key information that have captured the world's attention. |
