With ten coal-fired units and four gas turbine units installed, the Taichung Power Plant has 5,780MW of installation capacity overall. The speaker went on to discuss the three categories of air pollution prevention measures used in thermal power plants: Reduce fuel contaminants prior to combustion; alter the combustion method or add adsorbents during combustion; and use the selective catalytic reduction denitrification system, electrostatic precipitators, and flue gas desulfurization equipment following combustion. Data reveals that the amount of coal used by the Taichung Power Plant has declined annually. In addition, to meet the expectations of city residents, the load on coal-fired units has been lowered in response to air quality alerts. ![]() Next, Mr. Gao Chuan-chi spoke on "The Life Story of the 12 Animal Signs in the Chinese Zodiac". The speaker continued by introducing the 12 animal signs of the Chinese zodiac through a nursery rhyme in the Taiwanese dialect. The lyrics vividly depict the impression of each animal sign. According to the speaker, there are many animal-centered mascot cultural and creative products around the world as a result of variances in history, culture, folk beliefs, industrial economy, and living patterns. The well-known Mickey Mouse of Disneyland also brings about significant financial gains.
