為積極參與國際事務並推廣祐生共生化研究等相關理念，祐生特地於2007年6月2日輔導成立台灣永續建築環境促進會（Taiwan Society of Sustainable Built Environment，TSSBE），並積極協辦由該會主辦之2007年11月9日至11日SB07 Taipei國際會議。此會議為SB07 全球13國分區舉辦之系列會議，主要目的是希望將地區性的議題透過會議更有系統地發散，提供國際間相關領域參考以及互相學習的平台，而其會議成果亦會在2008年9月21至25日舉辦之SB08Melbourne大會展現。為了使會議舉辦盡善盡美，本次會議也邀請內政部營建署及建研所擔任指導單位；並力邀祐生以外之中華民國建築協會、中華民國真菌學會、中國民國都市設計學會等協辦單位一同共襄盛舉。
The Taiwan Society of Sustainable Built Environment (TSSBE) was established on June 2, 2007 under the guidance of the Archilife Research Foundation (ARF). In order to vigorously participate in international affairs and promote the Research of Symbiosis, ARF helped TSSBE to organize the SB07 Taipei International Conference (SB07 Taipei) held during November 9-11, 2007. The SB07 was a conference series held in thirteen countries around the world to spread regional issues through the conference more systemically, and to provide the world with a reference and mutual leaning platform of relevant areas. The achievements of the conference would be displayed at the SB08Melbourne International Conference held on 21-25 September, 2008. ARF invited the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior (CPA) and Architecture and Building Research Institute, Ministry of the Interior (ABRI) to be the advisor, and the Architectural Institute of the ROC (AIROC), Mycological Society of Republic of China (MSROC) and Chinese Institute of Urban Design (CIUD) as the co-host.
經過將近一年的縝密規劃與籌備，SB07 Taipei國際會議如期於2007年11月8日下午6點30分揭開序幕。為了歡迎遠道而來的國際貴賓以及增進參與者彼此間的認識，大會特別精心安排歡迎酒會來暖場。大會主席，同時也是本會黃晉英秘書長首先親切地為所有與會者介紹本次參與的來賓，包括：擔任SB08Melbourne 聯席主席的Dr. Greg Foliente以及他首次訪台的夫人、日本來的Prof. Kazuo Iwamura。林俊興董事長在此也即興發表了氣候如何影響環境及人體健康的小故事演說，期望所有嘉賓在往後兩天的會議中，除了能享受大會精心為嘉賓所策劃之活動外，更能由己身經驗出發正視回應氣候異變所帶來的挑戰。稍後在黃晉英秘書長熱情地介紹下，與會嘉賓彼此間也熱絡了起來，就在此時因班機抵台時間較晚，從加拿大遠道而來的Mr. Nils Larsson終於抵達會場，為了回應眾人的等待，他特別高歌一曲博取全場熱烈掌聲，而有著職業級聲樂水準的Prof. Kazuo Iwamura更是隨著音樂節奏與Mr. Nils Larsson忘情地唱和起來。熱絡的歡迎酒會就在眾人的參與下，為次日的SB07 Taipei國際會議的正式議程奠定了良好的交流基礎。
After nearly one year of meticulous planning and preparation, SB07 Taipei opened as scheduled at 6:30 pm, November 8, 2007. The organizer specially arranged a welcome party to welcome worldwide guests to let them meet and understand one another. SB07 Taipei Chair Huang Chin-ying, also the ARF secretary general, sincerely introduced the honorable guests of the SB07 Taipei to all attendees. These guests included SB08Melbourne Co-chair Dr. Greg Foliente and his wife who visited Taiwan for the first time, and Professor Kazuo Iwamura from Japan. ARF President Lin Chun-shin told a story on how climate affected the environment and human health in order to let all guests enjoy activities carefully planned by the organizer and view positively the challenges that brought by climate change from their personal experience at the event held two days after. Later on, with the introduction made by Secretary General Huang Chin-ying, guests began to know one another better. At the same time, Mr. Nils Larsson from Canada finally arrived as his plane for Taiwan was delayed. He sang for everybody, in response for everyone's waiting for him, and received a big applause in return. Professor Kazuo Iwamura, with the professional level voice, sang along with Mr. Larsson to the passionate musical rhythm. With the total participation of all guests, the welcome party established a good foundation for the exchange at the SB07 Taipei held the day after.
 2007年11月9日上午九時，SB07 Taipei國際會議在本會黃晉英秘書長（現任台灣永續建築環境促進會理事長）的主持下，於台北君悅大飯店凱悅廳舉行開幕式，黃晉英秘書長於致辭中首先表達了對與會者的誠摯謝意，並說明本次會議以GB + Symbiosis = SB 為主題，亦為台灣永續建築環境促進會成立以來，第一次舉辦的國際性會議；對於台灣而言，是相當重要的躍升，像台灣這樣的海島型國家，唯有國際化才能夠使得國際社會正視台灣存在的價值與重要性。希望能夠透過本次會議的研討形塑出具有地方特色且能夠突顯出亞熱帶地區特質的永續建築。緊接著，由司儀歡迎Mr. Nils Larsson、Prof. Kazuo Iwamura、Dr. Greg Foliente、內政部建築研究所何明錦所長、內政部營建署代表蕭惠娟小姐為大會致辭，貴賓們皆期盼大會舉辦過程圓滿順利，以及透過此次會議，在永續建築議題上有更多的交流。在司儀說明會議場次安排與相關注意事項後，第一全會的專題演講也接著展開。
At 9:00 am, November 9, 2007, the SB07 Taipei presided over by Secretary General Huang Chin-ying, also president of the TSSBE, was opened officially at the Grand Ballroom of Grand Hyatt Taipei. In the opening address, Secretary General Huang Chin-ying expressed her gratitude to all guests and announced that GB + Symbiosis = SB is the theme of the SB07 Taipei. She added that the SB07 Taipei was the first international conference that the TSSBE organized since it was established. It was a big leap to Taiwan because it was the only way for the international society to pay attention to value the importance of such an island country. She hoped that the discussions at the SB07 Taipei could shape the sustainable building (SB) that could carry and mark out the characteristics of its locale and the subtropics. Later on, the emcee invited Mr. Nils Larsson, Professor Kazuo Iwamura, Dr. Greg Foliente, ABRI Director General Ho Ming-chin, and CPA representative Hsiao Hui-chuan to deliver their addresses. All guests wished the SB07 Taipei was a big success and that they could exchange more on the SB at the conference. After the emcee explained the agenda of the conference, the keynote speech of the Plenary Session I began.
 第一全會的專題演講是「21世紀建築脈絡」，由iiSBE執行長Mr. Nils Larsson主講。Mr. Nils Larsson指出，氣候異變的影響反映在全球平均溫度的升高、風災肆虐、海平面上升與降雨量的變化，而我們同時又面臨饑荒與飆升的油價物價等議題。此等議題乍看之下似與我們熟知的建築考量相去甚遠，但卻將深深影響二十一世紀的建築營造產業。解決問題並無捷徑，我們僅能全面地加快抵禦災變的腳步，以期儘可能減低負面衝擊。
The keynote speech at Plenary I was "Context for the Construction Industry in the 21st Century" delivered by iiSBE CEO Nils Larsson. According to Larsson, the effects of climate change included increases in global temperatures, increases in storm events, rises in sea levels and changes in precipitation. There were other major issues that will also have to be faced, including famine and high cost of fuels. These issues may seem far removed from the mundane concerns of construction, but they would provide a context for construction that would become increasingly difficult during the 21st century. There were no simple solutions, but rapid actions on a broad front could at least reduce the negative impacts.
上午十點二十分為大會中場休息時間，會場與祐生生活研究中心進行實況連線，由共生圈一號住民介紹共生圈一號所栽種之野菜、摘菜活動及廚房備餐情形等，與會嘉賓邊享用咖啡點心邊透過視訊身歷其境，司儀並預告共生圈一號所種植之野菜在當日中午及晚宴上將與其他食材結合成一道道精緻美食供給各位嘉賓享用。
There was a break at 10:20 am. A live connection with Archilife Living Research Center took place. Residents of the Archilife Symbiosphere 1 Center introduced the wild vegetables grown, the vegetable collection and the preparing in the kitchen. While having coffee and snacks, guests could experience the live at the Symbiosphere 1 Center. The emcee also foretold the guests that the wild vegetables that grown at the center would be combined to the menus in the lunch and conference banquet on that day.
 在短暫的中場休息後，上午十點五十分，第二全會在營建署林欽榮署長精彩的演說中展開，於「從台灣國家土地使用與綠色建築政策看永續發展的未來」的講題裡，林署長闡述政府針對國家土地永續發展推廣及綠色建築方面的作為與處境，以及未來的展望；主要集結負責都市更新、建築管理、都市計畫及國家公園等政府單位製作的官方報告。我國政府已提出「21世紀的國家議程」與「生物多樣性國家報告」，全力推展永續性發展。在未來，政府將提出更多對策，減少綠建築氣體排放並擬定國家環境保護計畫，同時配合國際間的發展，致力使台灣成為「綠色矽島」。
The Plenary II began with the wonderful speech delivered by CPA Director General Lin Ching-rong after the break at 10:50 am. In his speech, "Prospect of Sustainable Development on Taiwan's National Land-Use and Green Building Policy." Director General Lin described Taiwan government's current undertakings, predicaments as well as future prospects, on promotion of sustainable development of national land, and on green building policy, with focus on the official reports made by governmental organizations that were in charge of urban regeneration, building management, urban planning and national parks. He added that the Taiwanese government had drawn up the National Agenda for 21st Century and National Report on Biodiversity in an effort to promote sustainable development. In the future, the Taiwanese government would come up with more strategies to reduce GHG﹙greenhouse gases﹚ emissions and draw up plans for national environmental protection to promote the Green Silicon Island Project in coordination with the progress made in the international circles.
 稍後，由曾任2005日本東京永續建築國際會議秘書長的岩村和夫（Kazuo Iwamura）先生演講「深耕綠色住居的市場─藉重預測及倒推演繹策略」，強調綠建築與永續建築的普及，需要相關參與者的共識與行動才能造成市場的轉變；因此我們不僅需要根據從過去到現在形塑的潮流做成「預測」，也需要運用「回溯推演」的策略想像未來的時點回推至現在，於此過程中，評估工具有助於促進參與者的相互溝通，而籌劃更好的解決方案。
Later on, Professor Kazuo Iwamura, former Secretary General of the SB05Tokyo, delivered a speech on "Cultivating the Market for Green Housing: By Means of Forecasting and Backcasting Strategies". According to Iwamura, the dissemination of green and sustainable architecture required related market transformation, based upon shared awareness and behaviors of the relevant actors. We needed therefore not only "forecasting", based on the trends in the past and present, but also "backcasting" strategy, coming back to the present from the image in the future to go around. During those processes, assessment tools may help encourage the actors to communicate with one another for finding better solutions.
11月9日上午的全會，在與會者熱烈的掌聲中告一段落，隨後的午餐時間也不同一般學術會議採用的餐盒，大會特別與祐生生活研究中心合作，將符合時令的數種共生野菜融入午餐菜色之中，在與會者品嚐野菜風味的同時，會場亦播放祐生生活研究中心簡介影片與應用野菜的健康料理方式，讓大家對未來共生生活的飲食層面有更進一步的認識。
The morning plenary sessions for November 9 ended with the big applause of participants. The lunch that followed was unlike the "traditional lunchbox" as in most academic symposia held in Taiwan. Through cooperation with the Archilife Living Research Center, the organizer blended seasonal wild vegetables that grown at the ARF Symbiosphere 1 Center to the lunch menus. While guests were enjoying the taste of wild vegetables, a prerecorded video showing the living condition of residents in the Archilife Symbiosphere 1 Center and the use of wild vegetables in healthy diets was broadcast to let everyone understand more and better about the diets in the future symbiotic life.
下午一點十分，本次會議徵求論文中獲選口頭發表的報告人，即於君悅大飯店的雀屏廳、鳳鳴廳、鶴齡廳展開分組會議報告，此次徵求論文共有六大主題：包括物理環境、住居環境、生態環境、都市與鄉村環境、新建築技術、政策／評量／案例研究。下午四點二十分，在第一天緊湊的會議報告結束後，大會特別安排一場市區漫步，與會嘉賓在大廳集合後，一同造訪台北101大樓與信義計畫區，從國外遠道而來的學者們亦對台北的都會風貌留下了深刻的印象。
At 1:10 pm, it was Parallel Session I where papers selected by the SB07 Taipei Paper Recruitment were presented at the Room Peacock, Room Phoenix and Room Crane of Grand Hyatt Taipei. These papers fell into six sub-themes, including physical environment, living environment, ecological environment, urban and rural environment, new building technology, and policy/assessment/case study. At 4:20 pm, the organizer arranged a city walk tour after the tight conference schedule of Day 1. After gathering at the hotel lobby, guests were taken to the Taipei 101 and Sinyi District. Overseas scholars and experts were pretty much impressed the urban image of Taipei.
緊湊的市區導覽後，所有嘉賓回到君悅大飯店準備參與大會晚宴，黃晉英秘書長於致辭中表示，在今日議程中與會者密切交流，切磋成果，不論是已獲致共識還是尚待進一步研討，今晚就在這個可放鬆身心的饗宴中，讓所有參加者都感到賓至如歸，而黃秘書長更特別致贈有東方風味的琉璃藝品予大會貴賓，答謝他們遠道而來地參與SB07 Taipei國際會議。隨後晚宴中大會特地邀請到南投東埔國小的布農族小朋友表演合唱，獨特而嘹亮的歌聲，打破了不同族群的語言隔閡，感動了每位與會者的心靈深處。隨後，由司儀介紹晚宴共生餐之特色，其中若干餐點係融合野菜特色烹煮而成，貴賓們在享用餐點時也與大家分享個人體驗心得及趣聞逸事，而SB07 Taipei國際會議第一天的活動也在這場豐富的身心饗宴後圓滿結束。
After the compact city tour, all guests returned to Grand Hyatt Taipei preparing for the conference banquet. In the address, Secretary General Huang Chin-ying pointed out that everybody had well communicated their ideas and achievements in the morning, and no matter any conclusion was made or further discussion was needed, it was time for everybody to relax and enjoy a good conference banquet, so that everybody could feel like at home. Secretary General Huang Chin-ying also presented the glass artworks with an Oriental taste to the guests to show gratitude for their participation in the SB07 Taipei. At the banquet, children of Bunun Tribe from Tungpu Elementary School in Nantou sang Bunun folksongs for entertainment. Their unique and resonant voice that broke the ethnic and linguistic barriers touched the soul of every guest. Later on, the emcee introduced the symbiotic menu for the evening. Some dishes were made with the wild vegetables grown at the Archilife Symbiosphere 1 Center. While enjoying the symbiotic dinner, guests exchanged their views and trivia, and Day 1 of the SB07 Taipei ended smoothing in such a banquet for the body and soul.
 11月10日上午九點，接續著昨天下午物理環境、住居環境、新建築技術、政策／評量／案例研究的分組會議報告，本日登場的都市與鄉村環境、生態環境分組會議報告，亦緊鑼密鼓地進行發表，而各個分組會議主持人、講評人則統整了報告人之論文要點加以比較，為當天下午論文頒獎做預備。在上午十點的休息時間，大會再次與祐生生活研究中心進行現場連線，林俊興董事長特別介紹共生圈一號的設計理念及自給自足的生活方式，而與會的學者及學生亦對野菜的栽種及功效感到興趣而紛紛向共生圈的住民提問。本次SB07 Taipei國際會議透過這樣異地共時的互動方式，間接拓展了與會者的視野，也對未來的生活情境多了份想像。
At 9:00 am on November 10, group discussions continued with papers on physical environment, living environment, new building technology and policy/assessment/case study presented at Parallel Session I held yesterday afternoon. Papers on urban and rural environment and ecological environment were presented at Parallel Session II & III. Hosts and commentators of each group also integrated and compared the important points of papers presented in the parallel sessions as preparation for the prize presentation of the Best Paper Awards in the afternoon. During the break at 10:00 am, the organizer also made a live connection with the Archilife Living Research Center where ARF President Lin Chun-shin introduced the design concepts and self-sufficient lifestyle of the Symbiosphere 1 Center. Interested in the effects of wild vegetables, scholars, experts and students participated in conference kept asking questions about wild vegetables from habitants of the Symbiosphere 1 Center. With such kind of remote, real-time interactions, the SB07 Taipei indirectly broadened the view of guests and gave them more space of imagination about our future life.
