Original Image 11
For the tour of November 14, 2015, Ms. Lu Ming-yun led 23 ARF interns and their parents on a trip to Linbian to learn about green energy ecosystem and crab fishing. At the start of the day's activities, team leader Ms. Lu Ming-yun reminded everyone about things to note and what to observe, and gave the interns some background knowledge.

The morning itinerary brought everyone to Taiyang Mushroom Farm. As part of the photovoltaic farming project in Linbian, Pingtung, many solar panels are installed within the farm. By hanging a canopy of black mesh under the solar panel mounting rack and using sprinkler system, a suitable space is created for cultivating mushrooms. The guide first led everyone to the mushroom racks under the solar panels to look at the precious and rare deer-antler lingzhi mushroom, and explain its nutrition and economic value. There were also numerous other spawn bags that contain other species of mushrooms with different characteristics. The guide also gave everyone a taste of natural lingzhi tea. The next destination was the nearby Kuangtsai Wetland Smart Energy Demonstration Park. First, everyone had to make pizza for lunch later by kneading the dough and allowing it to ferment. While waiting for the fermentation process to complete, everyone participated in DIY activity of potting aquatic plant. Excess aquatic plants from the park's pond were placed in globe containers to make eco-friendly ornaments. After the DIY activity, everyone had to place ingredients on the lunch pizza and put them in a wood-fired oven to bake. Everyone enjoyed the delicious pizza with Taiyang Mushroom Farm's fresh mushroom soup. After lunch, the guide explained the connection between solar energy and water, and introduced the installation arts and planned facilities in the park, leaving a deep impression in everyone's mind.

The afternoon's itinerary brought everyone to Seadawn Seafood Museum, which is Taiwan's first seafood snack museum. Led by the guide, everyone learned about the manufacturing process of seafood snacks and the types of fish often used in seafood snacks. The final leg of the day's itinerary was crab fishing at Crescent Bay, Chifeng. The guide began by distributing materials used for crab fishing and explained how to tie the bait. Then everyone went to the bank area to learn how to throw their baits as far as they can with centrifugal force and the correct angle, and checked their nets for catch after five minutes. At the end of the activity, everyone was treated to duck eggs and sweet potatoes baked in a sand kiln. Everyone had a great time as crab fishing was not a common experience most people had. At this point, the day's itinerary came to an end. Everyone boarded the bus to Taipei after taking a group photo and looked forward to the next study tour.
